June 30, 2010: More Lumber

Roger from HPM delivered more lumber today.

Fun to watch even this whole process! (Wow, I am so easily amused!)

Eric back tomorrow , but I will be working at the office, so my only entertainment will be the doc.

June 29, 2010: More Visitors

The plumbers finished up their rough-in. The plumbing inspector came by to check out their work.

Pam & Brian came home yesterday and took a tour of the house, with the boys in tow, of course.

Fun to show them the house!. You can't tell with the flash photos, but it's really dark in there at night!

No more workers til Thursday.

June 28, 2010: Quiet Day

Now that the house is (all but) sided, the more detailed work begins.

Eric cut off the remaining eaves on the west side of the old house and constructed a soffit to cover the stubs.

And the plumbers continued putting in the subhouse piping as well as the iBox units for the bathroom trim.

And that's it...

June 27, 2010: Finishing the siding

No photos today (at church... though I could post my photos that I took there! Nah...)

The guys finished up the siding on the back side where the two houses join.

June 26, 2010: Putting up the Siding

Here is the house—at the beginning of the day and again at the end:

And here's how it got there:

old-fashioned hard work and sweat...

...teamwork and mentoring...

...and more teamwork and mentoring!

And while some (including the doc!) stopped to enjoy Yama's Hawaiian plate lunch...

...others (well, one other!) just kept on working...

(but he did stop eventually!)

Thank you so much for all your hard work today, guys!

Ray, Eric, Charlie boy...

...Roger, Charlie & Riley. It's such a blessing to me to see this house develop because of your talented hard work.

Another artsy photo! (Look hard to see the rainbow...)

June 25, 2010: More Windows and the Front Door

Today marks Day 50 since this grand project began!

Eric and Riley put in more windows as well as the front door.

Alan Goo dropped by while his grandson attended Drivers' Ed at Sacred Heart.

Tony & Tony continued to lay pipes for the bathroom, kitchen and washer areas.

Joey, Kai & Josh finished up the roof (except for one area of the old house which needs repair... next week for that).

So here we are up to this point...

Tomorrow will be a full crew, finishing the wrapping, the windows and doors, and then SIDING! Woohoo! Can't wait!

June 24, 2010: Hooky Day

The fish were biting!!

Hard (for me) to tell in the photo, but this is big!

So all the carpenters (and the doc) played hooky today.

HOWEVER, some people (like me) were still working! Bruce sealed the lanai.

Tony & Tony spent the day under the house laying lots and lots of pipes. It looks very cool!
