October 2, 2010: Grouting the Bathroom Floors

Buster and Herb were at it again! They finished both bathroom floors. Now all we have to wait for are the bathroom vanities, coming by slow boat from Indonesia.


Both bathrooms off limits until the grout dries.

Eric came by to drop off plywood shelving material for the closet and pantry shelves.

May 26, 2010: Continuation of yesterday

The roofers continued their work, while Eric, Thomas and Rodney marked all the rooms and did a lot of the prep work for tomorrow (like moving those heavy posts!).



Their work area happens to be in the spare bedroom/my workroom!

May 24, 2010: More of the same...

...just without the rain.


I wanted to share some of the detail work:

I love the pattern of the blocking!


I think these are the hurricane ties?


Very securely attached joists!


And ample crawl space (and playspace for grandchildren who may show up someday!).


And so here we are thus far.

The guys continued to work on the CMU posts, and Walter and Roger delivered our first batch of lumber.
