January 3, 2011: Wall Speakers

Back to the project!
Bennett wants to get back into his video novels, so he worked on the audio portions...

Totoro is still getting used to the new side of the house, and to us being home again.

December 18, 2010: Cedar Closet!

Eric adjusted the above-the-refrigerator cabinet door so that it would close.

He also lined the backs of my closet shelves with cedar planks. Mmm, it smells so nice!

Bennett is watching and helping (because you know he likes to hang out in my bright, fragrant room!).

Here's a glimpse of the mirror to be installed in the guest bathroom:

And here he is, **shhh!** {praying} again... ;)

...and not that he's not doing a fabulous, meticulous job... it's just good to know that he's humble about it.

December 7, 2010: Color!

Today was sunup... to sunset...

...with beautiful shades of green.

The boss making his usual daily inspection.

December 5, 2010: Details, Details

Darrin and Eric worked on various other details around the house while Roger and Bennett cleaned up and moved lots of stuff to get ready for Calvin's team to come in on Monday to paint the outside. David Wong dropped by for a little while to help as well.

Darrin straightened the drawers and installed the pulls.

With David's help he also installed the quarter rounds over the flooring and baseboards.

And before Eric had to go run his errands, he worked on the master bedroom closet.

December 4, 2010: Prep for Painting the Outside

Not much pictures today, but Calvin's guys were over taping up windows and covering the deck in preparation to paint on Monday. As well, Eric was working on more details around the house.

Heidi came by with Kiha so that she could FINALLY see the appliances purchased from John Cook Kitchens in place in our house. We are both looking forward to entertaining in the house once it's finished!

December 2, 2010: Closet Shelving

Today Eric, using my favorite tool, the LASER LEVEL(!) began installing the shelving in the closet of the master bedroom.

And Bruce began sanding the siding in preparation for exterior painting which begins MONDAY!

Fun to watch conversations outside the bedroom window...

November 27, 2010: Detail Inventory

Back to work! Eric and Bennett took an inventory of all the small details that still need to be attended to. After shopping at the big boys' toy store, they started in on a few of them.

Door stops and door pulls:

...and more quarter rounds. The doc was very busy helping Eric by priming, sanding and painting, but not to busy to play around for the camera.

November 20, 2010: Details

Eric planed the bottoms of the doors so that they wouldn't get caught on the thresholds.

And Eric and Bennett grouted the landing tiles.

Tomorrow is our 200th day of building, so to celebrate, the guys are going fishing. Should be some good eating!

November 19, 2010: More Corner Rounds

Woke up this morning to the dulcet tones outside my window of... the planer, eating away at the imperfections in the beams of wood, which would next be shaped on the router to become corner rounds for the floorboards.

Other little details completed were the access panel to the attic and the floorboards in the utility area.

Caught Bennett relaxing for a moment...
