August 8, 2010: Chair Rails

Buster laid the Ditra in the guest bathroom.


Here's the tile going into the shower floor of the guest bathroom.


And here are the chair rails in the "great room." Great room!

August 7, 2010: Waterproofing the bathrooms

Buster started working on the bathrooms in preparation for tiling. He placed a waterproof underlayment called Ditra-XL from Schluter.

August 6, 2010: Front Room Trim

As the doc learned yesterday, trim like we have is very labor-intensive. Today Eric finished the front door and the awning window overlooking the side lanai.

August 5, 2010: New Helper

Bruce continues to caulk...


...while the doc gets to help do a little building on his day off.

August 4, 2010: Range Duct Installation

Eric continued putting up trim around the windows and doors.



He also installed the range duct with the help of his nephew, Bobby.

August 2, 2010: Interior Door Trims

One roll-off full... and gone. And the baby roll-off arrives. Guess that means we're going to be making less trash.



In the few minutes it was gone, I got a couple photos of the side of the house:

The "yard" is still kinda messy, but I can really see the beauty of the plantation style shining through.

Eric started on the interior door trims today.

The red line along the walls is that amazing laser light thing used to make everything level.


Love the cool yellow stuff.

And... the faithful dog waits (not so) patiently for his new friend to bring him treats...

August 1, 2010: Getting the Interior Doors Ready

The drywallers are finishing up this weekend. This calls for a Coke! A big one!


Next, the doors and door trim are being readied for the coming week.
