August 30, 2010: Waiting...

So here are the spots waiting for the next step, front and back. The front will be getting one more column of CMU blocks.

And the carport area will be further wrapped on Wednesday by Eric and Rodney. The back of the house will also be framed and a slab poured.


And my poor yard is nude of all vegetation, but at least it's graded and full of promise.

August 29, 2010: Mounding the Dirt

Eric, Roger and Grant continued to form the mounds over which the concrete will be poured for the carport. You can see Eric loves his job... :P

August 28, 2010: Busy Day at the Ranch!

Wow! I cannot believe I took over 70 photos today! Lots going on...

Woke up to Grant tamping the dirt outside my window. (Photo taken through my screen.)


Eric, Grant and Roger continued working on the carport area prepping for the concrete pour.


And Jerard filled up my favorite purple truck!


Darren and Thomas worked on the caps for the lanai railing. Very cool how they routed out channels underneath the caps so that the water would be directed away from the rail frames underneath.



Buster and Herb worked on the tile in the master bathroom.



And Totoro paaaatiently waits for Eric to bring him his treats!

August 27, 2010: Laying the Gas Lines

The Gas Company guys came today to lay the gas lines. More jackhammering and digging!


Almost done prepping for the concrete pour for the carport. More big blue rocks! I have video of the jackhammer getting stuck and unstuck. Maybe I'll figure out how to post it someday.


The boss was on site today... as well as the architect in residence...


The spare room got its first coat of color...

August 26, 2010: More Digging

Jerard and Eric worked hard today to get out those blue rocks to level the area for the pouring of the carport concrete.

August 25, 2010: More Painting

Amazing what a coat of paint can do to make one think that the end is near!

Tony and his young padawan laid the copper for the water.


And Eric ripped and routed the corner rounds for the baseboards once the flooring is installed.
